Al Jazeera

Sometimes you need a little challenge. Well I had the awesome opritunity to put my motion making skills to the test by racing to animate 2mins with a 24 hour deadline. We got a call of Al Jazeera wednesday night saying they need graphics for their story by friday mid day. So we quickly jumped into production and began figuring out how to animate DNA. After some tests, I concluded Cinema 4D's mograph system was the best solution for creating a replicated helix formation. Now the real trick was to make a section of it break away and a new section slide back in. After a number of experiments with the mograph selection tool, I tried a spline effector approach. This was the magical solution to creating the look we were going for. After a brutal 22 hr shift, I had finally reached the end of the timeline.
